As a quality seafood lover, I look at your restaurant reviews as a trusted source of information and consider your guidance as setting a standard for excellence in gastronomy and hospitality.
We can’t talk about food excellence today without considering food sustainability: sustainability is integral to quality. Unfortunately not all seafood is sustainably or responsibly sourced. Fishing methods like bottom trawling or dredging for scallops are known to damage marine ecosystems, affecting both biodiversity and the long-term viability of harvesting seafood from our seas. These catch methods are often poorly regulated and it is vital that the way restaurants source the seafood on their menus is reflected in your reviews. 
Lower impact methods of fishing, like creeling, hand-diving and line fishing can provide seafood of exceptional quality while minimising harm to the ocean.
Recognising these responsible sourcing practices would be a strong step towards aligning your reviews and awards with the growing consumer demand for sustainable choices. Supporting restaurants that prioritize low impact catch methods would also help guide diners towards options that reflect both high quality and a commitment to the future of a responsible food culture that respects the environment.
I ask that you always highlight catch methods for scallops in your restaurant reviews and add sustainable seafood sourcing as an essential criteria when assessing businesses as part of your influential reviewing and awarding processes.
